Le Duan Night Market Da Nang: The Local Shopping Alley Most Tourists Miss (2026)
Le Duan Night Market Da Nang: The Local Shopping Alley Most Tourists Miss (2026)
Updated October 2026. Opening times and prices below come from local reporting and guides published between December 2024 and April 2026 (latest: Tuổi Trẻ, February 2026). This is an informal street market, so hours and prices move around. Check before you go.
Ask a Da Nang student where to buy a cheap outfit for the weekend and there’s a good chance they’ll say chợ đêm Lê Duẩn, the Le Duan Night Market. Not many tourists know about it. It isn’t on the riverfront, there’s no Dragon Bridge view and nobody sells souvenirs in English. It’s one busy little alley in the city centre, lined on both sides with stalls of clothes, shoes, bags and accessories at local prices. We love it because it shows you how young people in Da Nang actually shop on a weeknight.

Quick answer: Le Duan Night Market (Chợ đêm Lê Duẩn) is a local evening street market in Kiệt 144 Lê Duẩn, the alley at 144 Lê Duẩn Street in central Hải Châu, which runs through to Hải Phòng Street. It’s open every evening, roughly 6 PM to 11 PM, and is busiest from about 7 PM. Entry is free. Expect cheap fashion: most clothes cost about 100,000–250,000 VND (~US$4–10), tees and accessories go lower, and there are a few snack and drink stalls. Worth it? Yes, if you want local prices and a real local scene. Skip it if you’re after souvenirs or a big food market.

Why don’t tourists know about Le Duan Night Market?
Tourists miss Le Duan Night Market because it’s hidden down an alley, it sells everyday fashion rather than souvenirs, and it was never planned as a tourist attraction. It grew out of informal stalls serving students from the nearby universities, and locals still call it the “student market” (chợ sinh viên). The big tourist night markets, like Son Tra by the Dragon Bridge and Helio, get the guidebook space instead.

From the main road you’d easily walk past it. Lê Duẩn Street itself is lined with proper clothing shops, and the market is tucked into the alley beside them, so it feels like a secret even though it’s right in the middle of the city. Inside, stalls face each other on both sides of a narrow walkway, with clothing taking up most of the space and shoes, bags and accessories mixed in. Turn up on a weekend evening and the alley is shoulder to shoulder with young locals hunting for an outfit.
What can you buy at Le Duan Night Market, and how much does it cost?
Le Duan Night Market is all about cheap, on-trend fashion: T-shirts, dresses, skirts, jeans, hoodies, light jackets, homewear sets, sneakers, sandals, bags and small accessories. In February 2026 a young local shopper told Tuổi Trẻ newspaper that most clothes cost 100,000–250,000 VND (about US$4–10). Basic tees and small accessories can be much cheaper.

| What | Typical price (VND) | About (US$) |
|---|---|---|
| T-shirts and shirts | 50,000–120,000 | $2–5 |
| Jeans and skirts | 80,000–180,000 | $3–7 |
| Most clothes overall | 100,000–250,000 | $4–10 |
| Shoes and bags | 70,000–220,000 | $3–8.50 |
| Accessories (sunglasses, phone cases) | 10,000–50,000 | $0.40–2 |
| Street snacks and drinks | 5,000–35,000 | $0.20–1.35 |
Clothes: trendy, cheap and updated all the time
Clothing is the main reason to come. Stall owners keep up with what’s popular online and restock often, so you’ll see plenty of crop tops, hoodies, light jackets and printed tees in whatever style is trending. Quality is mixed, which is normal at this price, but if you take your time you can put together a full outfit for less than one T-shirt costs back home.
Shoes, bags and accessories

After clothes come shoes (sneakers, sandals, flip-flops), handbags and woven beach bags, then the small stuff: sunglasses, hair clips, jewellery, phone cases and charging cables. Sizes for shoes follow Asian sizing and larger sizes can be hard to find, so bring your measurements and ask.
Second-hand (đồ si) stalls
Some stalls sell đồ si, second-hand and surplus clothing. This is where vintage lovers dig for denim jackets and one-off pieces. Check zips, seams and stains carefully under the stall lights before you pay.
What you won’t find much of: souvenirs, handicrafts and Da Nang specialty foods. For dried squid, coffee and gifts, go to Con Market or see our list of Da Nang dried specialties.
Is there street food at Le Duan Night Market?
Yes, but only a little. Le Duan is a shopping market with a handful of snack and drink stalls, not a food market. Local guides list sugarcane juice, grilled rice paper (bánh tráng nướng), bánh mì and grilled meatball skewers, mostly around 5,000–15,000 VND (under US$1) each. Fresh fruit and iced drinks are sold nearby too.
For a proper dinner, eat before or after. Con Market is only about 500 metres away and is one of the best cheap food stops in the city. On the way you could try our favourite chè chuối nướng (grilled banana in coconut milk) from the desserts guide, or a plate of ốc hút sucking snails.
How do you get to Le Duan Night Market?
Take a Grab to “Chợ đêm Lê Duẩn” or “Kiệt 144 Lê Duẩn”. It’s in central Hải Châu, about 1.2 km west of the Han River Bridge and roughly 500 metres from Con Market. Coming from the river, follow Lê Duẩn Street west and the alley entrance is on your right. The far end of the alley comes out on Hải Phòng Street.
| From | Route | Rough Grab time |
|---|---|---|
| My Khe Beach | Cross the Han River Bridge (via Phạm Văn Đồng), then head west along Lê Duẩn | About 10–15 minutes |
| Dragon Bridge | Cross to the Hải Châu side, then up to Lê Duẩn | About 5–10 minutes |
| Han Market (about 1.3 km) | Through the city centre to Lê Duẩn | About 5 minutes, or a 15–20 minute walk |
| Con Market (about 500 m) | Short walk | Walk it |
| Da Nang Airport | Via Nguyễn Tri Phương and Điện Biên Phủ to Hải Phòng Street | About 10–15 minutes |
Motorbike parking
The alley is too narrow and crowded to ride through, so park outside and walk in. There are informal parking spots and lots at nearby cafés and restaurants, usually 5,000–10,000 VND for a motorbike. Keep your parking ticket, and if you’re on a Grab bike, just get dropped at the entrance.
Tips for shopping and bargaining at Le Duan Night Market

Walk the whole alley first, compare a few stalls, bring cash and bargain politely. Prices here are already set for local students, so don’t expect to halve them. A small discount or a free extra item is a good result.
- Bargain with a smile. Many stalls show a price, but a friendly “bớt chút được không?” (“can you take a bit off?”) often works, especially when you buy two or more items.
- Bring cash in small notes. Many stalls don’t take cards. Some may accept bank-transfer QR payments, but don’t rely on it as a tourist.
- Check before you pay. Look at seams, zips and fabric under the light. Returns aren’t really a thing at a street market.
- Ask about trying things on. Don’t expect proper fitting rooms in a street alley. Ask the seller, and wear something you can easily try clothes over.
- Watch your phone and wallet. The walkway is narrow and packed at peak times. Wear your backpack on your front and keep your phone in a zipped pocket.
- Ask food prices first before you sit down at a snack stall.
- Check the weather. It’s an open-air alley, so heavy rain in the wet season (roughly September to December) can mean fewer stalls. On a stormy night, try our rainy day ideas instead.
When is the best time to visit Le Duan Night Market?

Go between 7 PM and 9 PM. By then the stalls are fully set up and the market is lively. If you want space to browse and try things, arrive a little earlier, around 6:30 PM, or come Monday to Thursday. Friday to Sunday nights are the busiest. The weeks before Tết (Lunar New Year) are the peak season: Tuổi Trẻ reported the market getting much busier from early December as locals shop for New Year outfits.
Make a night of it: shop at Le Duan, then walk to the Han River for the Han River Bridge or watch the Dragon Bridge breathe fire on a weekend night. The pink Da Nang Cathedral is about 1 km away too.
