Meet the Founder of Visit Da Nang

Hi! I’m Emilia Ton, and this blog is my love letter to Da Nang—the city where I was born, where I laughed as a child, and where my heart still calls home.

I grew up waking to the sounds of street vendors calling out their morning specials and falling asleep to the whispers of the ocean. My childhood was filled with simple joys: riding my bicycle through narrow alleys, sharing bowls of mì Quảng with friends, and watching lanterns float into the night sky.

Years later, life took me far away to the U.S. Everything felt unfamiliar—the food, the weather, even the way people spoke. But no matter how much time passed, I never stopped missing the warm smiles of strangers, the scent of the sea, and the vibrant spirit of Da Nang.

Now, every year, my family and I return to Vietnam and stay in Da Nang for three months. We visit my parents and relatives, and we make it a point to help our children experience and appreciate their homeland’s culture. Every weekend, we take the kids and my parents to explore new places—beach resorts, charming boutique hotels, hidden cafés, and even scenic camping sites in and around the city.

This blog is where I share our personal experiences to help others discover what to do in Da Nang, where to stay in Da Nang, and where to eat in Da Nang. You’ll find a mix of heartfelt stories, practical tips, honest reviews, and curated guides. I post photos, videos, and travel insights from all the places we’ve explored—from peaceful temples to bustling local markets, luxury getaways to street food gems.

Please note: We don’t receive any incentives or sponsorships from the hotels or restaurants we feature. Every recommendation on this site comes from our own real experiences, shared with the intention of helping you make the most of your trip to Da Nang.

Whether you’re a curious traveler planning your first visit, a local looking for new spots to explore, or someone like me who lives far from home but holds Da Nang close to the heart—welcome. I hope this blog inspires you to connect with the soul of this beautiful coastal city.

As we say in Vietnam, “Đi thật xa để trở về.” (Travel far to return home.) No matter where I go, Da Nang will always be home.

So, welcome! Whether you’re here to plan your first visit, rediscover old memories, or simply learn more about this amazing place, I hope this blog makes you feel at home. ❤️
