Best Museums in Da Nang 2026: 4 Top Picks, Hours & Ticket Prices
Quick answer: The best museums in Da Nang in 2026 are the Cham Sculpture Museum (world’s largest collection of Cham art, 60,000₫), the newly relocated Da Nang Museum on Trần Phú street (city history, 50,000₫, closed Sunday and Monday), the free Hoàng Sa Exhibition House in Sơn Trà, and the brand-new Museum of Light at Ba Na Hills, an interactive light-art space that opened in April 2026. All four are perfect for a hot afternoon or a rainy day.
These are my personal top picks after visiting them myself – every photo in this guide is mine. Below you’ll find what each museum is like, how long to spend, opening hours and 2026 ticket prices.

1. Cham Sculpture Museum – the one museum you shouldn’t miss

Address: 02 đường 2 Tháng 9 (near the Dragon Bridge), Hải Châu, Da Nang
Hours: daily 7:30am–5pm (ticket desk closes 4:30pm)
Ticket: 60,000₫; students 10,000₫; audio guide extra – book online on Klook
Time needed: 1–1.5 hours
Opened by French researchers in 1915, the Cham Museum holds the world’s largest collection of Cham sculpture – sandstone gods, dancers, lions and altar pieces from the Champa Kingdom, many brought from Mỹ Sơn Sanctuary. The galleries are arranged by the site where each piece was found, and the old Cham-style building is lovely in itself. If you only visit one museum in Da Nang, make it this one. Read my full Cham Museum guide for the history behind the collection.

2. Da Nang Museum – the city’s story in its new home

Address: 42–44 Bạch Đằng & 31 Trần Phú (visitor entrance on Trần Phú), Hải Châu, Da Nang
Hours: Tuesday–Saturday, 8–11:30am and 2–5pm (last entry 11am / 4:30pm); closed Sunday and Monday
Ticket: 50,000₫; Da Nang residents and university students 20,000₫ – book online on Klook
Time needed: 1.5–2 hours
Da Nang Museum moved into its new home between Bạch Đằng and Trần Phú in 2025, and it’s now one of the most beautiful museums in Vietnam. Nearly 3,000 artefacts – chosen from a collection of about 27,000 – tell Da Nang’s story from prehistory and the Sa Huỳnh and Champa eras to the French period, the wars and the modern city. My favourite room is the marine culture gallery with its full-size traditional wooden boat. The building itself is part of the story: it was built by the French in 1898–1900 as the Tourane Mayor’s office and later served as Da Nang City Hall. Lit up at night, its white riverside façade is a great photo spot too. For floor-by-floor details, read my full Da Nang Museum guide.

3. Hoàng Sa Exhibition House – free and fascinating

Address: Hoàng Sa street, Thọ Quang, Sơn Trà, Da Nang
Hours: 8–11:30am and 1:30–5pm
Ticket: free
Time needed: 45 minutes–1 hour
This modern exhibition house tells the story of the Hoàng Sa (Paracel) archipelago through old maps, documents, photographs and artefacts, and explains why the islands matter so much to Vietnam. It’s an eye-opening visit, it costs nothing, and it’s on the road up to the Sơn Trà Peninsula – so pair it with Linh Ứng Pagoda and the peninsula viewpoints on the same trip.
4. Museum of Light (Nguồn Cội Light Museum) at Ba Na Hills – the newest and most Instagrammable

Location: Ba Na Hills (in the former Wax Museum area)
Hours: daily 10am–5pm
Ticket: 150,000₫ add-on (introductory price), on top of your Ba Na Hills ticket – book it on Klook
Time needed: 30–45 minutes
Opened on 30 April 2026, the Museum of Light (Lumiere Light Art) is an 800 m² interactive light-art space with seven themed zones – from a giant halo of light and glowing jellyfish to coral, aurora and a mirror-like water pond. Sensors make the light change as you move, so every visit looks different. It’s less a history museum and more an art experience, and it makes a great break from the crowds on the mountain. Planning a day up there? See my best things to do in Ba Na Hills.
Good to know before you go (from my latest visit):
- Its full name is the Nguồn Cội Light Museum (“Source of Origins”) – Vietnam’s first light museum on a mountain.
- Boots are provided at the entrance. The floors are covered in a thin layer of water – that’s what creates the amazing reflections – so your own shoes stay dry outside.
- 7 zones, 7 different illusions: laser mapping, mirror reflections, infinite-depth effects and colour immersion rooms.
- Camera warning: the lasers are real lasers. Don’t point your phone or camera lens straight at the laser sources – it can permanently damage the sensor. Photograph the reflections, the floor and yourself instead.
- Price: about 150,000₫ (around US$5.70) per person for all 7 zones – one of the best-value “wow” experiences on the mountain.

- Da Nang Fine Arts Museum (Lê Duẩn street, Hải Châu) – Vietnamese paintings, sculpture and ethnic minority crafts; 40,000₫.
- Điện Hải Citadel – the 19th-century citadel in central Da Nang; read my Thành Điện Hải guide.
Tips for visiting museums in Da Nang
- Watch the lunch break. Da Nang Museum and Hoàng Sa Exhibition House close at lunchtime, so go in the morning or after 2pm.
- Don’t go on a Monday if Da Nang Museum is on your list – it’s closed Sunday and Monday.
- Combine nearby stops. The Cham Museum and Da Nang Museum are both close to the Han River in Hải Châu, so you can do both in one morning.
- Save them for a rainy day. From October to December, museums are the best indoor plan in the city.
- Dress respectfully – shoulders and knees covered is a good idea at the history museums.
