Updated October 2026. We stayed as guests of the resort; see the note at the end.

Most people come to Hoi An Memories Land for one hour: they buy a ticket for the Hoi An Memories show, watch it and go home. We did it differently this time and stayed at the resort itself, and honestly, it’s the better way to do it. The resort sits on its own small island in the Hoài River, right across the water from Hội An Ancient Town, and the show is a short walk from your room.

Quick answer: Hoi An Memories Land is a riverside resort on Cồn Hến (Hen Islet), Cẩm Nam, facing Hội An Old Town across the Hoài River. Expect green gardens, a pool, spa, yoga and cultural workshops, Old-Town-style rooms, a big Vietnamese and Western breakfast buffet at An Bistro, and a few hundred metres’ walk to Hoi An Impression Theme Park and the Hoi An Memories show. It’s perfect for honeymoon couples and anyone who loves a secluded, quiet atmosphere, from about US$75 a night.

3 things most Hội An resorts don’t have

3 things most Hội An resorts don’t have

This is what makes Hoi An Memories Land special, and why we’d recommend it to honeymoon couples and anyone who loves a secluded, quiet atmosphere:

  1. A direct view of Hội An Ancient Town. You can literally see the Old Town from your room, across the river. Very few resorts in Hội An have that view.
  2. It’s on its own island. The resort sits on Cồn Hến (Hen Islet), a small island in the Hoài River, so it feels peaceful and private even though the Old Town is right there.
  3. The Hoi An Memories show is just a few steps away. No taxi, no traffic: you walk over to Vietnam’s biggest outdoor show and walk back to your room afterwards.

Add rose petals on the bed, a bath for two and slow breakfasts by the pool, and it’s an easy choice for a romantic trip. Rooms start from about US$75 a night (prices vary by date).

Where is Hoi An Memories Land?

The resort is on Cồn Hến (Hen Islet) in Cẩm Nam, a small island in the Hoài River directly opposite Hội An Old Town. That’s the whole point of staying here: you’re close enough to see the lantern-lit streets from the other side of the water in the evening, but far enough away to sleep in peace. You can walk into the Old Town over the Moonlight Bridge, and Da Nang is about 30 km away, roughly an hour by car.

A green, peaceful escape

The grounds are full of trees, lawns and water. There’s a big pool lined with palms and sun loungers, a spa, yoga, and cultural workshops, and every path seems to end at another garden or pond. After a hot morning in the Old Town, this is exactly what you want to come back to.

The rooms: Old Town style (and a gift)

The rooms are pretty and calm, with design touches inspired by Hội An’s Old Town, big windows and long curtains that open onto the greenery. Every guest also gets a Hoi An Memories conical hat as a gift, which is a lovely souvenir to take home (and very handy for walking around in the sun the next day).

Don’t skip An Bistro

An Bistro is the resort’s restaurant, open for breakfast and dinner. The breakfast buffet is the highlight: a huge spread of Vietnamese and Western dishes, fresh pastries and drinks, and the staff are attentive without hovering. Come hungry.

Walk to the show: Hoi An Impression Theme Park and Hoi An Memories

This is the best part. From the resort, Hoi An Impression Theme Park and the Hoi An Memories show are just a few hundred metres away. No taxi, no traffic, no crowds at the gate: you simply walk over, stop for photos and catch the small shows along the way, then settle in for Vietnam’s biggest outdoor show. The show runs in the evening, 8 to 9 PM, every night except Tuesdays (check before you go, as holiday weeks can change).

We’ll cover the theme park and the walk over in detail in part 2. For the show itself (the five acts, seats and tickets), read our Hoi An Memories show guide.

Is it worth staying at Hoi An Memories Land?

  • Yes, if you’re seeing the show. Walking back to your room after a late show beats a taxi back to Da Nang.
  • Yes, for honeymoon couples and anyone who loves a secluded, quiet atmosphere: your own island, an Old Town view from the room and the show a few steps away.
  • Yes, for families who want a quiet, green base with a pool, right next to the Old Town.
  • Less so if you only want nightlife in the Old Town every night; it’s close, but you’re on the other side of the river.
