Maha Vegetariano Da Nang: My Favourite Vegetarian Restaurant, 5 Dishes to Order (2026)
Maha Vegetariano Da Nang: My Favourite Vegetarian Restaurant, 5 Dishes to Order (2026)
Last updated: October 2026
If you ask me where to eat vegetarian in Da Nang, I always say the same thing: Maha Vegetariano. I have eaten here a few times now, and it is still my favourite vegetarian restaurant in the city, for the food, for the calm Cham-inspired space, and for how carefully everything is done. Here is what to order, what it costs and what to know before you go.

What to order at Maha Vegetariano
The menu runs from Vietnamese classics to sushi, pizza and pasta, all vegetarian. These five are the dishes I order again and again. Prices are what I paid in October 2026.
1. Mẹt cuốn nhân duyên: crispy rice-paper rolls (about 135,000 VND / US$5.15)

Start here. A platter arrives with a crispy, nutty filling, a pile of fresh herbs and lettuce, slices of green mango and cucumber, rice paper and a bowl of sesame sauce. You wrap each roll yourself, dip and bite. It is the dish I would send a first-timer to Maha for.

2. Bánh xèo Nhật: Japanese-style sizzling pancake (about 88,000 VND / US$3.37)

A thick, crispy pancake with a lattice of sauce on top, closer to a Japanese okonomiyaki than to the thin Central Vietnamese bánh xèo. Cut it into wedges and share. At under US$3.50 it is the best-value dish on the table.
3. Sushi bơ: avocado sushi (about 116,000 VND / US$4.41)

A long roll topped with avocado and a creamy sauce, with a crunchy topping that works well against the soft centre. Served on a wooden board with pickled lotus root. Good for sharing while you wait for the hotpot.
4. Nấm nướng tiêu chanh: grilled mushrooms with lime and pepper (about 135,000 VND / US$5.13)
Six small blue-rimmed bowls arrive on a tray, each with mushrooms grilled with lime and black pepper in a light, slightly sour sauce, topped with fresh herbs and fried shallots. Smoky, peppery and one of the dishes that shows how good mushrooms can be when they are the main event rather than a side.

5. Lẩu nấm lá giang: sour-leaf mushroom hotpot (about 220,000 VND / US$8.36)

The dish to share on a cool evening. Lá giang is a sour creeper leaf from Central Vietnam, and it gives the broth a gentle tang that goes perfectly with the mushrooms, tofu and greens you add to the pot yourself. It easily feeds two with a couple of starters.

Other dishes worth a look on the tablet menu: the vegetarian pad Thai, chả giò (fried spring rolls), the Singapore-style mushroom congee and the fresh juices and detox teas, which are a nice way to finish.

How much does Maha Vegetariano cost?
For a vegetarian restaurant this polished, the prices are fair. Most dishes sit between about 90,000 and 220,000 VND (US$3.5–8.5), with the hotpots at the top of that range. In my experience, expect about 100,000–200,000 VND per person. Two people sharing the five dishes above would pay roughly 700,000 VND (about US$27) before drinks. Cards are accepted.
The space: Cham-inspired and calm

You notice the building before you notice the menu. Pointed arches, terracotta-coloured brick and lattice screens give it the feel of a Cham temple, and inside it is simple and quiet: warm wood, a Buddha statue, soft lighting and a few tables in the garden out front. It is minimal rather than showy, and it is one of the reasons I keep coming back. Reservations are accepted (by phone or Zalo) and there is free parking, which is rare this close to the beach.

Tips before you go
- Vegan? The restaurant is vegetarian, and some dishes use dairy (there is a camembert pizza, for example). Many dishes are vegan or can be made vegan; tell the staff and they will point you to the right ones.
- Book for dinner. It fills up in the evening, especially at weekends and in high season. A quick message on Zalo is enough.
- Order the hotpot early. It takes a little while to come to the boil, so order it with your starters.
- Getting there: it is in An Hải Bắc, a short walk from My Khe beach and the hotels on Võ Nguyên Giáp, and about 10 minutes by Grab from the city centre.

Is Maha Vegetariano vegan?
It is a vegetarian restaurant with a large choice of vegan dishes. A few dishes contain dairy, so ask the staff if you want to be sure.

Not for lunch, but I recommend booking for dinner at weekends. Reservations are accepted by phone or Zalo.
