1. Kalà Kalà Beach Club: the beach pool party

Kalà Kalà is the closest thing Da Nang has to a Bali-style beach club, with a Mediterranean-meets-Asian look: an open-air layout, a big free-form pool right by the sea, day beds and a tall thatched-roof bar. Come in the morning for a quiet swim and a coffee, stay for lunch, and at sunset the sound system kicks in with Deep House, Afro House and resident DJs.

At night it really turns wild. Every week there are live DJs, MC hypes, fire shows, LED dancers and fireworks, and at weekends the pool becomes a foam party. It’s the easiest pick if you want to spend a whole day and night in one place.

  • Address: 51 Võ Nguyên Giáp, My Khe Beach, Da Nang
  • Opening hours: about 8:00 am – midnight, daily
  • Best for: a pool day with friends, sunset DJ sets, weekend foam parties, groups

2. Nami Beach Club: sunset over Da Nang Bay

Nami Beach Club is the calm, grown-up choice. It’s part of the Mikazuki Japanese Resorts & Spa on the north side of the city, so it faces Da Nang Bay instead of the open sea, and that means sunsets. The centrepiece is a big infinity pool that seems to run straight into the bay, with a swim-up bar, day beds and bean bags right in the water, and blue lounge sofas under white umbrellas all around. Stone terraces, sail shades and palm trees lead down to the beach, and everything is spread out so it never feels crowded. Order a cocktail around 5pm and watch the sun go down behind the Hải Vân mountains. If you have kids, the resort’s Mikazuki water park is next door.

  • Address: Mikazuki Japanese Resorts & Spa, Xuân Thiều tourist area, Nguyễn Tất Thành, Da Nang
  • Opening hours: about 3:00 pm – 10:00 pm
  • Best for: couples, sunset drinks, an infinity-pool afternoon, a quiet evening

3. Nazare: Indian food with a sea view

Sea-view terrace with colourful hanging lanterns at Nazare Indian Beach Restaurant & Bar on My Khe Beach, Da Nang

Nazare is a beach restaurant and bar right on My Khe, with a bright terrace hung with colourful lanterns and tables looking straight out to sea. It’s the place to go when you want a proper dinner, not just drinks: the menu is mostly Indian (curries, tandoori, naan) with some Western dishes, and the bar stays open late. Grab a table on the terrace at sunset and stay for a cocktail after dinner.

  • Address: Lô 02 Võ Nguyên Giáp, An Hải, Da Nang (My Khe Beach)
  • Opening hours: about 12:00 pm – 1:00 am, daily
  • Best for: dinner with a sea view, late drinks, groups with mixed tastes

4. Bounce Beach: water park, pool and BBQ

A visitor jumping onto the inflatable water park at Bounce Beach on the Son Tra peninsula, Da Nang

Bounce Beach is the fun one. Tucked into a quiet bay on the Son Tra peninsula, it has a floating inflatable water park with slides and a giant air pillow for jumping, plus a swimming pool, a beach café and a seafood BBQ restaurant. It’s perfect for families and groups of friends who want more than just sitting on a lounger, and the water on this side of the peninsula is usually calmer than on My Khe.

  • Address: 01 Yết Kiêu, Thọ Quang, Sơn Trà, Da Nang
  • Prices: pool use is around 100,000₫ per person on Friday–Sunday, and usually free Monday–Friday when you order food or drinks (check before you go)
  • Best for: families, kids, groups, water sports

5. The Holiday Beach Club & Dining: live shows on the sand

Under new management and freshly relaunched, The Holiday Beach Club & Dining has turned into one of the liveliest spots on My Khe Beach. It’s an open-air beach club and restaurant right on the sand, built to catch the sea breeze, that runs from breakfast until midnight. By day it’s an easy place for a meal and a drink with your feet in the sand; at night it becomes a show, with DJ sets, saxophone, dancers and fire shows, plus signature cocktails. Live music nights are usually Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 8pm to 10pm, and Tuesday nights end with fireworks over the beach, as you can see in my video.

  • Address: 300 Võ Nguyên Giáp, My Khe Beach, Da Nang (opposite Holiday Beach Hotel Danang)
  • Opening hours: about 7:00 am – midnight; live music usually Tue, Thu & Sat, 8–10pm
  • Best for: a fun night out by the sea, live music, groups of friends

Tips for visiting beach bars in Da Nang

  • Go for sunset. On My Khe the sun sets behind you over the city, so the sky turns pink over the sea; at Nami on Da Nang Bay you see the sun go down over the water.
  • Book a day bed at weekends. The best loungers at the beach clubs go early on Saturdays and Sundays.
  • Check the sea first. From October to December the waves on My Khe can be big and red flags go up. Swim in the pool, not the sea, on rough days.
  • Bring cash and a card. Most beach clubs take cards and QR payments, but cash is handy for tips and taxis.
  • Take a Grab home. Don’t ride a motorbike after drinking.
